The Hours ‘See The Light’.
December 3, 2008
Toiling journeymen The Hours return with another funeral march bound up in woozy orchestration and tumbling guitar arpeggios. Unfortunately, the lyrics plod along like a granny full of Nytol (“see the light/the sun will shine…I know there is light inside of you” zzzzzz) and for a track that goes on for 5-plus minutes, this isn’t a good thing. Especially considering that nothing really happens until some piano stabs and layers of battery-farmed strings enter around the four minute and the whole affair begins to sound like Coldplay skulking about Brian Eno’s sound bin. Still, ‘See The Light’ isn’t entirely bad, and for you materialistic types of there, the single artwork is provided by one Damien Hirst. So that’s nice.
